AMCHAM POLICY PORTAL

Welcome to the AMCHAM India Policy portal !

Developed by HP India this unique resource is available to all employees of American companies with business interests in India, representatives of the US administration and other special invitees. The portal is a single point of interface for all sector committees and interest groups under the American Chamber of Commerce in India. Focused on American business in India, this platform will provide in depth discussion on some of the major sectors of economic and commercial interest between India and the United States.

The portal serves to exchange data, applications and information through exchange of personalized views of various stake holders. Through collaboration between work groups it offers users self-service opportunities to manage disparate data silos, information from various sources and policy publications. A gateway to search/modify/submit/archive data on special industry segments and sectors this is also a place to post notification of upcoming business tenders and serves as a tool for publishing information, documents, circulars and seminar papers for the benefit of a larger user group. Industry-specific news and information will be posted and the portal architecture will remain transparent to users.

Using secure authentication based entry it allows administrators and users to deliver a variety of information, tools, applications and access points through a single mechanism. Administrators will be required to tag and classify the data which should cause a ripple effect where users will also generate ad hoc navigation and information flows. The organization provides a secure entry point and lets users log in to an area where they can view, download, and upload private information. The administrators will restrict users to categories mentioned earlier and maintain sector-based file organization and discussion threads to augment the exchange of information.

As distinguished from email, the portal provides increased space and self-service access to a private repository of information.  Headed by leading personalities of US business in India the sector committee Chairs provide leadership in policy discussions in their respective segments of business. They encourage all members and their colleagues to post information and actively participate in sector specific discussions on the portal. A list of the existing verticals is exhibited and we are confident that this will grow with usage.
